So I’m sleeping in my bed this morning when I hear a knock on my door. It’s a plumber sent by the landlord. Apparently the people living below us complained of a leak that was coming from my room and it was urgent that it be stopped.

I thought it would probably be from my radiator because it has been messed up and now has only two settings: OFF and 3000 degrees. So I am awoken from my slumber and go into the kitchen to grab a drink of water. The plumber quickly exits my room with the small dixie cup that was in place under my radiator. He claims that he has solved the leak mystery and the small cup is the perpetrator.

I purposely place the cup under my radiator so that it evaporates – making a sort of crude homemade humidifier so I don’t have bloody noses all winter long. “You are better off using a glass cup because these leak” he says. He is holding a small dixie cup full of water. Note that the cup is completely full, one would suspect a leaking cup would be otherwise. Granted if this dixie cup tipped over completely, it would probably be absorbed into the wood. He claimed that there was water on the floor around the cup, which was how he came to his conclusion. I went and looked at this water, and it was as if I just spit on the floor, that’s how much water there was. Confused and sleepy, I put the cup back under the radiator and went back to bed.
